Mechanical Prototyping & Field Deployment (Hardware), help design and iterate hardware design & engineering: piping layouts, pumps/valves/sensors integration, assembly documentation, and pilot commissioning support. Work hands-on with prototypes and test rigs, improving reliability, serviceability, and operator friendliness in real deployments.
Impact Assessment & Sustainability (Cleantech), support quantifying MycoFarming’s environmental impact by analysing pollutant removal, carbon footprint, and system-level benefits. You will structure impact metrics, contribute to reports like LCAs or LRUAs, and help translate technical performance into clear, credible sustainability value.

UX Research Intern/Patient Testing: Assisting to run qualitative usability sessions with Harmona’s first 10–20 unofficial-test patients. Sit/interview with them as they use the app, document friction points and unexpected behaviours, and produce weekly synthesis that directly shapes product iteration. Work alongside the founder and clinical team.

Researchers describe methods in domain-specific language, but underneath lies a transferable procedure. This internship compares approaches for stripping away jargon to capture what a method actually does (its inputs, logic, and assumptions) and evaluates which produces the most faithful, reusable “method fingerprint.”
Internship 2: What Makes Two Methods Structurally the Same?
PageRank ranked web pages but also worked on gene networks. Why? This internship builds a dataset of methods that jumped between fields (and near-misses that didn’t), then uses feature selection to empirically discover which structural properties actually explain when a transfer succeeds.
Internship 3: Finding the Needle in a Million Papers
Given a method’s abstract fingerprint, how do you search millions of papers to find where it could apply next? This internship compares vector retrieval, subgraph matching, and GNN-based approaches to design a search strategy that surfaces surprising but valid cross-domain opportunities at scale.
